The Deciding Factor, Inc., an integrated marketing firm, announced a change in ownership recently. Karen Holzer has purchased the stock and trademark ownership of The Deciding Factor, Inc.
The agency, which was named a finalist in the Cincinnati Business Courier’s 2008 Best Places to Work, retains all of its employees, including the account services and the creative teams. Holzer said she looks forward to continuing the agency’s commitment to its clients.
“I am excited to take this agency to the next level,” Holzer said. “We have a great, creative team, and our people have a true passion to see our clients succeed. For this team, the greatest reward is seeing our clients increase their presence in the marketplace and grow their business.”
The firm was started in 2001 by Jay Blumberg, who most recently served as executive officer, providing sales and client support for the agency. Holzer joined the agency in 2002 and has shepherded its growth to its current size. She will now serve as president of the company, located at 5633 Tylersville Road, Suite B, Mason.
Andy Doesburg, vice president of Thornton Landscape in Maineville, said The Deciding Factor has been instrumental in creating a unique and stand-out brand for his company.
“I believe we have one of the most innovative brands in our industry. We constantly receive positive feedback about our website and newsletter, both of which were created by The Deciding Factor,” said Doesburg, who has been a client for four years. “They understand our business and our clients, and they work as an integral part of our team.”
Holzer, who has nearly two decades of experience in marketing and public relations, said she remains dedicated to The Deciding Factor’s vision and philosophy – which is finding the nugget that makes a client different and then marrying strategy to great creative in order to make them stand out in the marketplace.
“In this difficult economy, companies know they need to continue investing in their marketing, but they also want to be sure they are getting the best value for their marketing dollars. Because of our size, we are able to be strategic, innovative and flexible, while still meeting our clients’ budgets,” Holzer said.
Doug Coster, vice president of Nolte Precise Manufacturing in Colerain Township, said he appreciates The Deciding Factor’s business model, its partnership approach and the level of quality and client service he receives from the firm. In 2008, NoltePrecise.com earned an Outstanding Website WebAward from the Web Marketing Association in the manufacturing category.
“It’s been a great experience to work with The Deciding Factor in all of our marketing. They’ve helped us develop a new brand identity, core values, sales process, sales collateral and website. We’re also pleased with how they have gotten our name out in the trade and business press,” Coster said.
