TDF Welcomes Content Development Intern Maddie Ward

The Deciding Factor prides itself on providing cutting-edge marketing support and content development for its diverse range of clients. With this goal in mind, TDF also strongly believes in the importance of developing the next generation of marketing specialists. This summer The Deciding Factor is excited to welcome Maddie Ward as a content development intern.

Maddie is currently a junior at the University of South Carolina, studying advertising and business administration, and a 2017 graduate of Ursuline Academy of Cincinnati. As a summer intern, she will be focusing on developing quality blog and social media content for TDF clients, as well as optimizing websites and learning Google Analytics.

More About Maddie

Maddie has gained valuable experience in marketing through her course studies, as well as previous internships in the field of communications.

Prior to her time at The Deciding Factor, Maddie worked with several non-profits in Columbia, South Carolina, including Quench and Ronald McDonald House of Columbia (RMHC).

As a marketing and events intern at RMHC, Maddie gained first-hand marketing experience in the non-profit world, participating in extensive fundraising efforts and social media content development. She also worked to develop promotional content for Quench, an on-campus non-profit aiming to end the world water crisis.

Highlighting her passion for bettering the community through service, Maddie was elected in November as Vice President of Philanthropy for the Delta Zeta Chapter at the University of South Carolina. Through this invaluable experience she has further developed her leadership and management skills, while gaining insight into large-scale event planning and finance management.

Looking to the Future

As a rising Junior, Maddie is excited for the future as she continues to learn about the ever-growing and changing field of marketing.

“I am so excited to see what the future brings, and the new experiences that come along with this time in my life,” says Maddie. “I am open to exploring as many aspects of the marketing world as I can, as I am so eager to continue learning and developing into a well-rounded professional.”

After graduating from USC, Maddie hopes to continue her education by applying to law school. She has dreams of working as an attorney in a corporate setting, merging her passion for both marketing and the law.

“We are so excited to have Maddie on-board with us for this summer. Her eagerness and excitement to learn make her a great fit for our company, and we are looking forward to what she has to offer,” says Karen Meyers Holzer, President of The Deciding Factor.
