TDF Welcomes Kylie McCalmont – Our Content Development Summer Intern

At The Deciding Factor, we believe in providing top-notch digital marketing strategies for our clients and developing top-notch future marketing experts. That’s why we’re proud to welcome Kylie McCalmont as our content development summer intern.

Kylie, a junior studying Journalism – Strategic Communication at the University of Missouri and a 2016 Mason High School graduate, will be creating content for our clients in the form of blog posts, website copy, digital advertising content, social media posts and marketing planning documents.

About Kylie

She has experience in both journalism and digital marketing through internships and coursework. She interned at Route, a non-profit in Columbia, MO, as their content marketing intern last summer. In addition, she interned with Young Life College and designed their summer 2017 recruitment material.

Over the past school year, Kylie was the Communications Intern at the Newman Center in Columbia, MO, developing content, creating graphics and designing pages for the biannual alumni newsletter to provide updates to 3,600 alumni of the church.

Kylie also spent half a semester working as a student assistant at Newsy, an online national news network. Through this experience, she diversified her skill set by working on production and learning the basics of animation.

Kylie began the Strategic Communication program last semester. During this time, she served as the Account Manager working on her first campaign with the simulation client, Blue Apron.

Looking to the marketing future

“I am very passionate about the field of marketing and I’m looking to develop a breadth of experience during college that I can offer to future employers. This internship at The Deciding Factor is giving me great insights into marketing strategy and client management,” says Kylie.

She serves on the social media committee for her sorority and this year she ran the advertising committee for Kappa Alpha Theta’s most recent philanthropy events – CASA Carnival and Capture the Kite. During the spring 2018 semester, they raised almost $2,000 to support Heart of Missouri CASA and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.

Next year, Kylie will participate in the Novak Leadership program instituted by David Novak, the former CEO of Yum! Brands.

“We are so excited to have Kylie come on board this summer as a summer intern. We are a tight-knit team here at The Deciding Factor, and we are happy to welcome her into the family,” says Karen Meyers Holzer, President of The Deciding Factor.
